American Sign Language (ASL)

Faculty Advisor: Greg Propp
Language Assistant: Christina Kim

Christina Kim is a third-year undergraduate student in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She is majoring in Biomedical Engineering and serves as the Language Assistant for the American Sign Language floor. Christina recently completed a summer of research in a UVa School of Medicine neuroscience laboratory that studies hair cell regeneration in the inner ear, and will continue her work to inform future gene therapy efforts throughout the school year. As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), she hopes to combine her background and academic interests to develop hearing assistive devices. Christina is excited to be a part of the first-ever ASL floor in Shea House and host a variety of fun cultural and language-centric events!
