Parnia Ashari .
Spring Semester 2020:
Language Hours: Fridays at 5-6pm
Dinner Conversations: Monday - Thursday at 6:30pm
My name is Parnia and I'm a third year student at the Batten School majoring in Public Policy and Leadership. I am a native Farsi speaker and lived in Iran until the age of 7. Although I grew up speaking both English and Farsi, I studied Farsi along with my regular school and have always loved embracing all the cultural aspects of the Persian language, including the music and the poetry. Besides being your language assistant this year, I am also a Leadership Intern at UVA's Multicultural Student Services office so please feel free to ask me any questions that you might have about what I do, or MSS in general!
As your LA, my job is to create a Farsi speaking/learning community where students can practice their conversational Farsi and feel more comfortable speaking the language. have many activities planned to help you become a better Farsi speaker but would always love your input on what you want to get out of your language learning experience at Shea!
I look forward to working with all of you this semester!
