September 1: 오리엔테이션 Introduction & Popular Games 

Description: Get to know each other through popular Korean games such as APT, “I Am Ground,” and 3-6-9.   

September 8: 한국의 특이한 기념일 Quirky Holidays in Korea 

Description: Discover Korea's quirky holidays by decorating a 2025–26 calendar and discussing how these unique days are celebrated. People will share their birthdays and weathers of each month, saying out loud each date in Korean for practice. 

September 15: 한국의 국가 기념일 National Holidays in Korea 

Description: Mark Korean national holidays on a 2025–26 calendar and explore their historical and cultural significance.

September 22: 전래 동화 Korean Folklore

Description: Predict the next scenes in famous Korean folktales, including The Tale of Hong Gildong, The Tale of Chunhyang, The Tale of Heungbu and Nolbu, The Tale of Shim Cheong, etc. Predict endings and reenact dramatic scenes.

September 29: 전통 놀이 Traditional Games

Description: Play traditional Korean games including Yutnori, gongi, Tuho, Ddakjjichigi, etc.  Prepare for leading each game station for the upcoming semester event celebrating Chuseok.   

October 4: 추석 기념 이벤트 Semester Event (Chuseok) 

Description: Celebrate Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) with traditional games and snacks on Sat 10/4. 

October 13: 전통 음악과 공연 Traditional K-Music/Theater

Description: Watch short videos of Korean traditional music and performances, such as pansori, buchaechum, talchum, sajachum, pungmulnori, etc. Describe the characteristics of each performance and share one's impressions in Korean. Craft your own Tal---traditional Korean mask used for talchum dance.

October 20: 사투리 Dialect 

Description: Learn about unique dialects from different parts of Korea. Guess their meanings and practice reenacting scenes from dramas using regional dialects. 

October 27: 돌잔치 First Birthdays in Korea 

Description: Conduct a mock Doljanchi (celebration of a baby’s first birthday). Conduct Doljabi---an iconic part of the celebration where the baby chooses one item, which is believed to predict their future or destiny

November 3: 발음 게임 Tongue Twister Challenge 

Description: Compete in saying Korean tongue twisters to practice pronunciation and rhythm. 

November 10: 줄임말과 문자 Korean Slang & Text Talk  

Description: Learn and guess the meaning of modern slang or abbreviations used in texting. End with a meme creation activity.

November 17: 노래방 Noraebang Night  

Description: Enjoy a Korean karaoke night! Share and sing your favorite Korean songs while learning about Korea’s music culture.

November 24: 영화 관람 Movie Night

Description: Watch a Korean film chosen by vote. Discuss cultural themes, values, and any differences noticed between Korean and Western storytelling.
