Hi! My name is Marisa Yamamoto and I’m one of the LA for the 2025-26 Academic year! I am a 4th year majoring in Architecture and minoring in Global Sustainability and Architectural History. My dad is Japanese and my mom is American so I grew up speaking both languages from a young age. I was born in Thailand and my family moved around Asia/Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan) throughout my life. I lived in Japan when I was in 4th grade and went to a public Japanese elementary school and a private middle school which helped develop my Japanese. I also took Japanese literature in high school which further strengthened my language skills. My interests outside of architecture are sewing, painting/drawing, swimming, and reading. I look forward to getting to know all of you the year!

こんにちは！私の名前は山本茉莉紗です。今年のLAの役割を任されました。バージニア大学の四年生で建築を選考しています！父は東京、母はミシガン州出身なので小さい頃から日本語と英語を学びました。タイで生まれ、それからマレーシア、シンガポール、日本などを転々としました。日本に住んでいたのいは小４から中1までで、公立小学校に通い、中学受験に挑戦しました。高校はシンガポールで過ごし、IBの日本語Aをとることで日本語が強化されたと思っています。建築以外の趣味は刺繍、お絵描き、水泳、などです。みんなのことをもっと知っていくのが楽しみです。気軽に話しかけてきてください！
