Korean Semester Event: Oct. 4, 12-2pm
September 1: 오리엔테이션 Introduction & Popular Games
Description: Get to know each other through popular Korean games such as APT, “I Am Ground,” and 3-6-9.
September 8: 한국의 기념일 Holidays in Korea
Description: Discover Korea's quirky & national holidays by decorating a 2025–26 calendar and discussing how these unique days are celebrated. People will share their birthdays and weather of each month, saying out loud each date in Korean for practice.
September 15: 양세찬 게임 & 릴레이 말하기 Guess Who I Am & Storytelling
Description: Play two different Korean games that involve a lot of talking: 1) Who Am I? - Each player has a card placed on their forehead so everyone else can see it, but not the player themselves. They will go around and ask questions to figure out their identity. 2) Relay Storytelling - Starting from one keyword, players take turns adding a three-letter word in Korean to continue the story. Each person must build on what the previous person said.
September 22: 전통 놀이 Traditional Games 1
Description: Play traditional Korean games, including Yutnori, gongi, Ddakjjichigi, etc. Prepare for leading each game station for the upcoming semester event celebrating Chuseok.
September 29: 전통 놀이 Traditional Games 2
Description: Play traditional Korean games, including Yutnori, gongi, Ddakjjichigi, etc. Prepare for leading each game station for the upcoming semester event celebrating Chuseok.
October 4: 추석 기념 이벤트 Semester Event (Chuseok)
Description: Celebrate Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) with traditional games and snacks on Sat 10/4.
October 13: 발음 게임 Tongue Twister Challenge
Description: Compete in saying Korean tongue twisters to practice pronunciation and rhythm.
October 20: 줄임말과 문자 Korean Slang & Text Talk Jeopardy
Description: Learn and guess the meaning of modern slang or abbreviations used in texting. Have conversations using the expressions they learned in the group chat.
November 10: 한국 밈과 드라마 대사 맞추기 Captioning K-drama/memes
Description: Watch famous Korean memes or K-drama scenes and guess the next lines. Award points to participants who give the most creative or the most accurate guesses.
November 17: 사투리 Dialect
Description: Learn about unique dialects from different parts of Korea. Guess their meanings and practice reenacting scenes from dramas using regional dialects.
November 24: 바둑 오목 알까기 Games on Baduk board
Description: Play three classic Korean games played on a Baduk (Go) board—Baduk, Omok, and Alkkagi.
December 1: 손 게임 Hand Games
Description: Learn Korean hand-using games, such as hand-clapping songs (Sse-sse-sse), chopsticks, spoons, Zero, APT, and "One-Minus" Rock-Paper-Scissors.
December 8: 노래방 Noraebang Night
Description: Enjoy a Korean karaoke night! Share and sing your favorite Korean songs while learning about Korea’s music culture.
